Deep within the fertile ground of my heart
a wild and brutally savage garden grows.

Its treacherous, thorny vines intertwine
corrupting the dazzling fields of my soul.

The strong roots of despair savagely branch
out under the dark earth of my mind and

drink up all the purity of my life until
it becomes a shriveled mass of decay to

belie the glorious beauty that once was
the wondrously beautiful garden of my life.

This poem was written in memory of my 3rd
wife and our divorce. It was a hard time
of despair and solitude for me.
